ALIA TO CLEAR BACKLOG OF ARREARS OF SALARIES, PENSIONS AND GRATUITY

The Governor - elect of Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has promised to clear the backlog of arrears of salaries, pensions and gratuity.

Fr. Alia made this known in a speech marking his victory in the just concluded Governorship and State Assembly elections in Benue State.

He recognizes what an enormous privilege and honour it is to be trusted with the government of Benue State at this time, stressing that he was not in doubt about the enormity of the challenges that lie ahead and what the victory mean in the face of such challenges.
Fr. Alia appreciates his supporters for their sacrifices and resilience which birthed the remarkable and historic victory they were all celebrating, adding that he has never seen a people expressed their wishes and desires so passionately the way he saw them expressed in this election.

He dedicates his victory to all people, especially those who thirst for the dividends of democracy, saying by this victory, the liberation they have all yearned for was at hand.

The Governor - elect said they need to start building an economy of the future based on skills and talents and education and application of technology to compete in the global market.

While expressing optimism that a new Benue is possible, Fr. Alia enjoins all Benue people to embrace a new way of thinking and action, even as he calleid on them to join hands with him to build a Benue of their dream.

He appreciates the leader and state working committee of APC in Benue State for their resilience and resourcefulness.

The priest of God also congratulates his opponents from.the other parties, saying the time of politicking is over, now is time to face the challenges of development.

As they get set to begin the task of rebuilding Benue State, Fr. Alia prays God to fortify them with strength and wisdom to succeed.
