The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the 27 Chairmanship and 312 Councillor positions in all the 27 Local Government Areas across Borno State. Declaring the results Sunday, the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC)  Chairman, Lawan Maina who by the electoral law doubled as the Chief Returning Officer declared them winner and returned elected.


  



Meanwhile, history was on Sunday made as the APC candidate in Jere LGA of the State, Hon  Inna Galadima, has been declared Chairman-elect, making her the first female to be so elected in that capacity in the State. Hon. Inna Galadima, a one-time Commissioner and Special Adviser, was declared the winner of the election by the Returning Officer of Jere LGA, Prof. Mohammed Konto.  Konto noted that Galadima scored 110,459 votes to defeat her closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 2,478 votes. Meanwhile, the BOSIEC Chair,  Alhaji Lawan Maina, has announced the overall results of Saturday’s local government elections on Sunday in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

  According to him “Following the conduct of the election on Saturday, today we have received results from the 27 LGAs and as empowered by the law under Section 10, in my position as the Chief Returning Officer of the state, I read out the results as follows: “The ruling party, APC won all the 27 Local Government Chairmen in the state. Equally, the ruling party has won all 312 council members (councillors) in all the Wards of the State. “With this, we have come to the end of this exercise and the Certificate presentation to the winners will be made at a later date to be announced soon.” 

  Consequently, in an interview with TNEN-News and other media organizations, Hon Inna Galadima shortly after the electioneering process promised to be up to her responsibilities and duties to engender development and usher in the dividends of democracy to the people by way of Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SME's)  to women and youth of Jere LGA to improve their standard of living and create a more peaceful environment for all.  She appreciated the Executive Governor of Borno State, His Excellency Prof. Babagana Zulum, Governor, Hon. Bello Ayuba APC State Chairman, and other stakeholders for allowing her to serve her people in the grassroots leadership.
