VIDEO: Borno State Hold Local Government Election, As APC Wins All 27 Seats and Councilors, the election took place on Saturday 18 January, 2024.(see full Video below)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the chairmanship and 312 councillorship positions in all the 27 local government areas of Borno State.

  


Grassroot dividends of democracy were display in Borno State during the election by different stakeholders who took out time to coordinate the people of the state to understand what is peaceful election and the important of no violence in election's. The local Government areas were well protected by the security agencies, Borno State Independent Electoral Commission BOSIEC officers with matteris arrive the poling unit's at about 8:00am and voting started by 9am, tunout were very impressive, no violence in any of the poling unit as well. Hon. Bello Ayuba APC party chairman spoke to journalist during the election process saying that, they have prepared for a peaceful election and as a party the believe they are going to won all the local Government and they have brief the candidate's of their party to be prepared delivery dividends of democracy to their at grassroot, he went haed to say that His Excellency the Governor of Borno State is a man that loves to work with people that are up right, ready to save the people as leadership required so as to deliver quietly leadership that will change the lives of the people specially at the local areas and he believe by doing so, more peace will return to the communities and the State at large. Hon. Abba Kyari Abba Kolo,  member representating Jere State constituency in Borno State House of Assembly, said the election is excellent from all he has seen during when he casted his vote at his poling unit 010 and he collected report from other poling unit as were, their is no challenge of security or conduct of the election, matterias arrive on time and the people did accreditation all by 8am and started voting at about 9am, no challenge was head in any of the area around his constituency, advise the winners of the election to deliver good leadership to the people because a lot is expected from them, he appreciated His Excellency the Governor of Borno State for giving Borno State Independent Electoral Commission BOSIEC all the support needed to carry out the election. The MMC local Government APC party chairman also comment the BOSIEC for delivery up time of election and the security agencies who were also up and down to make sure they will be no issues of any crisis in all the poling unit and voters at their poling unit also accepted to peace and appreciate BOSIEC for an excellent election, other voters comment all the stakeholders for joining with His Excellency Prof. Babagana Zulum, the Governor of Borno State to create a peaceful environment for the election and they went haed to call on everyone to support the Governor to bring in more peaceful environment in the State, so, as business and other activities will continue and the socio economic growth of the State will be improve and more investors will come in to do business. BOSIEC collected all the election results from different local Government areas and APC won all sit contested in the election to announce the final results and declare the winner's of the election. . Other poling unit cover by TNEN-News are:- poling unit 009 Lawan Mahmud unit, Lamisuk word in MMC LGA, Bolori I word:- Tsoho Mai Kwano unit 014, Tsoho Mai Kwano unit 015, Fozzan word:- Lawan Hassan unit 022, Mafoni word:- Abba Yusuf unit 027, Jere LGA:- Maimusari word:- Mustapha Gambo I unit 022, Galtimari word:- Bulamu Jidda unit 004 and Bustop II unit 014. They was no violence recorded in any of those places. The Executive Chairman of Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC), Alhaji Lawan Maina, has announced the overall results of the Saturday’s local government elections on Sunday in Maiduguri, the state capital.

  

He said, “Following the conduct of the election on Saturday, today we have received results from the 27 LGAs and as empowered by the law under Section 10, in my position as the Chief Returning Officer of the state, I read out the results as follows: “The ruling party, APC won all the 27 Local Government Chairmen in the state. Equally, the ruling party has won all the 312 council members (councillorship) in all the wards of the state. “With this, we have come to the end of this exercise and the certificate presentation to the winners will be made at a later date to be announced.
